Beef Bourguignon Recipe

  2. Heat the oil and fry the steak for 8-10 min, stirring occasionally, till browned.

  4. Add in the garlic and flour, mix well and cook for 1 minute.

  6. Stir in the wine, bring to the boil then cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs.
  7. 4.
  8. Add in the shallots or possibly onions, bacon and thyme and cook for a further 1 hour.
  9. 5.
  10. Just before serving, sprinkle the bacon over the top and garnish with sprigs of fresh thyme.
  11. NOTES : A classic French dish perfect for entetaining.
