Bread

  1. Dissolve yeast in water; sprinkle with the 1 teaspoon sugar. Combine milk and butter; whisk in sugar and salt.
  2. Whisk in the raised yeast (should be to the top of a 1-cup measure).
  3. In a mixing bowl, mix the bread flour with the yeast and milk mixture. Now, mix in the all-purpose flour; knead mixture for approximately 2 minutes.
  4. Put dough in a well-greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap.
  5. Set over a pot of hot water; let rise 55 minutes.
  6. Take out; knead and separate.
  7. Form into 2 loaves.
  8. Put into well oiled loaf pans; set over hot water to rise (they should be above the pans, approximately 60 minutes).
  9. Bake in a 400u0b0 oven for 10 minutes; turn oven to 325u0b0 and bake until done, approximately 15 minutes.
  10. Cool out of pan on a wire rack.
