Chinese Style Daal(Lentils)
- 1 c. red daal (lentils)
- 2 c. water
- salt to taste
- 1 Tbsp. chicken broth (powdered)
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper
- 1/2 tomato, chopped
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 onion
- dried red chillies
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 bay leaves
- cumin
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire
- Wash daal.
- Put daal and water on stove.
- Add salt to taste and chicken broth seasoning.
- Add red pepper and tomatoes.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and cover for 20 minutes.
- In a fry pan, cook 1 garlic clove, onion, oil, red chillies and bay leaves. Pour cumin over daal; pour over fry pan and back to original pan. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and sugar when ready to serve.
