Easy Cheese Fondue
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- 3- 1/2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- 2 cups Whole Milk, Warmed
- 1/2 cups Grated Cheddar Cheese
- 1 cup Grated Fontina Cheese
- 1/2 cups Grated Havarti Cheese
- 18 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 cups Sour Cream
- 1/4 teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 3 dashes Salt
- 1 cup Asparagus Spears, Blanched
- 1 cup Broccoli Florets, Blanched
- 1 cup Carrot Sticks, Blanched
- 1 cup Cubed Ciabatta Or Other Good Bread
- In a large pot, melt butter.
- Stir in flour and cook 2 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in warm milk and continue stirring occasionally until sauce has thickened.
- Reduce heat and stir in cheeses.
- Once cheese has melted into the sauce, stir in nutmeg, sour cream, pepper and desired amount of salt.
- Taste and adjust seasonings.
- Pour into prepared bowl or fondue pot.
- Serve with blanched vegetables, breads and meats of your choice.
