Homemade Chicken Pot Pie
- 2 to 3 chicken breasts or 1 whole chicken
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1 c. chicken broth
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas and carrots or mixed vegetables
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 c. slightly cooked, chopped celery or 1/2 c. thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 stick melted margarine
- Cook chicken in water salted with garlic salt, drain.
- Cut in chunks and place in bottom of 8-inch square pan.
- Place vegetables on top of chicken.
- Heat broth and soup.
- Pour over chicken and vegetables.
- Mix flour, milk, baking powder, salt and melted margarine.
- Pour over chicken and vegetables.
- Do not stir! (Mixture will appear thin.) Bake at 400u0b0 for 45 minutes or until brown.
- Good for freezing or cooking ahead of time.
