Peach Cantaloupe Conserve Recipe
- 4 c. minced, peeled cantaloupe
- 4 c. minced, peeled peaches
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/2 c. minced walnuts
- Combine cantaloupe and peaches in large heavy saucepan.
- Simmer 20 min stirring till sufficient liquid collect to prevent sticking.
- Add in remaining ingredients, except walnuts and cook, stirring frequently, till thick.
- Add in the walnuts and boil 3 min.
- Ladle into warm jars and seal.
- 4 to 5 half pints.
