Cola Cake

• 2 c. sugar
• 2 c. flour
• 1/2 c. butter
• 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
• 3 Tbsp. cocoa
• 1 c. cola drink
• 1/2 c. buttermilk
• 1 tsp. soda
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 c. small marshmallows
• Cola Topping

1. This cake is to be mixed by hand; do not use electric mixer. Sift sugar and flour together in a large bowl.
2. Combine butter, shortening, cocoa and cola and heat until butter is melted; pour over flour mixture and stir well.
3. Add buttermilk, soda, beaten eggs, vanilla and marshmallows.
4. Mix well and spoon into well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
5. Marshmallows will tend to gather in one section.
6. Distribute throughout pan.
7. Bake at 350u0b0 about 45 minutes or until cake tests done.
8. Spread with Cola Topping while cake is still hot.
9. Yields 12 servings.
