Mashed White Beans

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook the garlic, stirring often, until golden, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the beans, sage, and 1 1/4 cups water.
  4. Cook, stirring often, until the beans are hot and the liquid thickens, about 4 minutes.
  5. Mash the beans, leaving some whole.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
