Fried Rice from Central Java (NASI GORENG JAWA TENGAH)
- 500 gr white rice
- 3 pcs cabbage, sliced roughly
- 1 egg, make scrambled
- 3/4 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp flavoring (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic
- 5 shallots
- 7 cayenne peppers
- 1 tomato
- 2 pcs candlenut, toasted
- 1/2 tsp shrimp paste, roasted
- 2 chicken thighs, fried and shredded
- 2 tbsp fried onions for topping
- 1 leek, cut into 1/2 cm pieces
- 1 tomato, chopped
- Heat oil and saute ground spices until fragrant.
- Add the white rice, stirring until blended.
- Add in cabbage, scrambled eggs, sugar, salt and flavorings.
- Stir again, let the cabbage slightly wilt.
- Serve the fried rice with complementary ingredients.
