Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, soda and sugar into a large bowl.
  2. Add eggs, shortening (at room temperature), molasses and vanilla.
  3. With a wooden spoon, stir until smooth about 1 1/2 minutes.
  4. Add chocolate chips and oatmeal; stir until it is blended evenly.
  5. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls and 4 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake in a preheated 325u0b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Cool on a wire rack.
  8. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
