Deviled Crab In Shell
- 1 lb. crab meat
- 1 small green pepper
- 1 small onion
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 Tbsp. brandy
- 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. white sauce
- 1 Tbsp. bread crumbs
- In a saucepan, saute the green pepper which has been trimmed and finely chopped.
- Also saute the chopped onion in butter for 10 minutes.
- Stir frequently.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 2 tablespoons brandy, 1 tablespoon each dry and prepared mustard, 1/2 teaspoon salt and the white sauce.
- Stir in the crab meat and bread crumbs.
- Heat over low heat.
- Stir gently.
- Spoon into shells.
- Sprinkle tops with bread crumbs and dot with butter. Bake at 400u0b0 for 10 minutes.
- Brown tops under the broiler for a few minutes.
- Serves 4 to 6.
