Chocolate Marble Muffins

  1. *Preparation* Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Measure the ingredients.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, and almond flour.
  4. Put the margarine, egg, and sugar into a bowl, and mix well with a whisk.
  5. Sift in the dry ingredients from the Step 1, and fold in with a spatula.
  6. Add the milk (almond extract is optional), and mix well.
  7. Try not to knead the mixture, just fold it in.
  8. Put the chocolate syrup into a small bowl.
  9. Add about 1/4 of the mixture from the Step 4, and mix well.
  10. Transfer into the Step 4 bowl, and make 1-2 big swirls.
  11. You can create a beautiful marble pattern if you don't work it too much.
  12. Divide into molds with big spoons.
  13. If you pour it in little by little, it will lose the nice marbled pattern, so just pour it in.
  14. Sprinkle almond slices on top if you have some, and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 180C.
  15. When you break it in half, it looks like this.
  16. This is a very rough marble pattern.
