Spaghetti Or Lasagne Sauce Recipe

  1. Chop onions, carrots, celery, garlic and parsley very fine.
  2. Heat oil and add in minced ingredients, using a very heavy pot.
  3. Saute/fry in warm oil for 20 min, being very careful not to burn.
  4. Ingredients should turn gold, not very brown.
  5. Add in grnd beef and soup bone and brown meat about 10 min on medium heat.
  6. Add in salt and pepper to taste and 1 tsp.
  7. sugar.
  8. Now add in tomatoes and juice, then tomato paste and sauce.
  9. Mix well and fill pot with water.
  10. Cook over low heat, stirring very often (so not to stick).
  11. After cooking for about 2 1/2 hrs, add in basil leaves and cook for about 30 min more.
  12. The longer it is cooked slowly, the better.
  13. Serve on spaghetti or possibly lasagna.
  14. For spaghetti, top with lots of grated Parmesan cheese.
  15. Optional (but is very delicious) : Add in 1 (10 1/2 oz) can Progresso Brand red clam sauce.
  16. This should be mixed in when adding tomato sauce.
  17. Sufficient for approximately 8 people.
