English Custard Squares
- 6 sq. semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 stick plus 1/2 c. and 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 2 c. confectioners sugar
- 2 Tbsp. instant vanilla pudding
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- Melt 2 squares chocolate and 1 stick butter in small saucepan. Add beaten egg, graham cracker crumbs, vanilla, coconut and nuts. Mix and press into an 8 x 8-inch pan.
- Put in refrigerator until firm.
- Mix 1/2 cup melted butter, confectioners sugar, instant pudding and milk.
- Put on top of crust.
- Return to refrigerator until firm.
- Melt 4 squares chocolate and 1 1/2 tablespoons butter.
- Pour over other layers. Refrigerate until firm.
- Keep in refrigerator because of egg.
