Ham and Egg Strata
- 4 cups milk (do not use low-fat or nonfat)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts trimmed, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 cups diced ham
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup (packed) grated sharp cheddar cheese
- Butter 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish.
- Beat milk, eggs, mustard and salt in large bowl to blend.
- Mix in bread, ham, green pepper and onion.
- Transfer mixture to prepared dish.
- Cover and chill overnight.
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Bake strata uncovered until just set in center, about 50 minutes.
- Sprinkle cheese over.
- Bake until cheese melts, about 5 minutes longer.
- Let stand 10 minutes and serve.
