Dried-Beef Gravy

  1. In a skillet, heat the butter until foamy.
  2. Add the dried beef and fry until edges are browned.
  3. Sprinkle with flour, stirring to coat beef with flour.
  4. Cook until flour is just starting to color, then slowly add milk, stirring to smooth any flour bits and thicken sauce.
  5. Bring to a boil and cook until there is no longer any taste of flour.
  6. Meanwhile, toast the bread.
  7. Place the toast or warm biscuits on plates and spoon gravy on top.
  8. Serve.
