Tart Cherry Sauce

  1. In a medium saucepan stir together sugar and cornstarch; stir in water.
  2. Add cherries.
  3. Cook and stir constantly over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
  4. Cook and stir for 2 more minutes.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in liqueur.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature over ice cream or favorite dessert.
