Kabocha Squash Pie with Frozen Ingredients
- 6 pieces Kabocha squash (frozen)
- 2 sheets Frozen puff pastry
- 1/2 Egg yolk
- 1 tsp Butter
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Milk
- 1 tsp Honey (optional)
- Put the kabocha squash in the microwave until softened.
- Add the butter, sugar, milk and honey (optional) and mash with the back of a folk.
- You don't need to peel the skin.
- Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4.
- Score the top pie sheets by making a few horizontal shallow cuts.
- Preheat the oven to 200C.
- Place the kabocha mixture on the center of the bottom sheets.
- Brush the edges with egg yolks and place the scored top sheets on top.
- Push down the edges with a small folk to seal.
- Brush the top surface with the egg yolk and sprinkle with granulated sugar if you like.
- Place the pies on a parchment lined baking sheets and bake in the oven for 15-17 minutes.
