Shrimp & Crab Meat Au Gratin Recipe
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon MSG
- 1/2 c. flour
- 3 c. warm lowfat milk
- 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 10 ounce. crab meat
- 10 ounce. raw shrimp, shelled & cleaned
- 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Additional grated cheddar cheese
- Heat butter and add in salt, garlic and MSG.
- Stir in flour till smooth.
- Gradually stir in warm lowfat milk.
- Stir in 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese till blended.
- Add in shellfish (being sure crab meat is free of shells).
- Add in cheddar cheese.
- Bring to boil then turn off heat.
- Mix remaining 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese with paprika and sprinkle half the mix proportionately on bottom of individual or possibly large au gratin dish.
- Stir shellfish mix well, then turn into dish or possibly dishes.
- Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese and cheddar cheese.
- (Mix may be frzn or possibly refrigerated till ready to use at this point.)
- Bake at 450 degrees till cheese melts.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
