Siu Haau Chinese BBQ Sauce

  1. Whisk all ingredients together in a medium saucepan
  2. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring frequently
  3. Reduce heat and simmer until all the sugar has dissolved and the sauce is just beginning to thicken.
  4. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature, you should end up with about 1 cup of sauce.
  5. Note: mixture will thicken after cooling, it should be still a little runny when you remove from heat.
  6. You can refrigerate in a sealed bottle
