Meat Filling For Shells Recipe
- 1 1/2 pound hamburger
- 1/4 onion, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 pound shredded mozzarella
- 3 slices bread, diced
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 tbsp. minced parsley
- Salt & pepper
- 1 1/2-2 quart. tomato sauce
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Jumbo shells, parboiled
- Break up hamburger into small pcs and saute/fry with onion in a skillet on medium-high heat, till browned.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in egg, mozzarella cheese, bread, lowfat milk, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Cover bottom of pan with tomato sauce (3 x 9 inch).
- Fill parboiled shells with filling and layer in pan.
- Cover with sauce.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Cover and bake at 450 degrees for 30 min.
