Almond Strawberry Bars
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3/4 cup strawberry preserves
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 to 2 teaspoons milk
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Grease and flour 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.
- Combine all crumb mixture ingredients in small bowl.
- Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press on bottom of prepared pan.
- Bake 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, combine all topping ingredients except preserves in same bowl.
- Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed; set aside.
- Spread preserves to within 1/8 inch from edge of hot, partially baked crust; sprinkle with topping.
- Continue baking 20-25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool completely.
- Combine powdered sugar and almond extract in small bowl.
- Stir in enough milk for desired glazing consistency.
- Drizzle glaze over bars.
