Grandma's Yeast Rolls Recipe
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. vegetable shortening
- 4 c. lowfat milk
- 2 Packages yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 heaping tbsp. salt
- Flour
- Let lowfat milk, sugar and shortening come to a boil.
- Cold to lukewarm.
- Add in yeast and sufficient flour to resemble soft cake batter.
- Beat well.
- Cover and set aside till it doubles in bulk.
- Add in baking pwdr, soda, salt to 1 c. of flour.
- Add in to dough.
- Add in sufficient flour to knead.
- After kneading, put dough in greased bowl.
- Cover and chill.
- When ready to use, knead and make into rolls.
- Let rise 1 1/2 hrs.
- Bake at 350 degrees till brown.
- Dough can be refrigerated.
