Hamburger Chop Suey

  1. Combine dissolved bouillon cubes, soy sauce and cornstarch. Brown the beef and onion in a large skillet; break beef apart to a crumbly mixture and brown thoroughly.
  2. Add the water chestnuts (with juice), the broccoli and carrots.
  3. Pour the bouillon, soy sauce and cornstarch mixture over all.
  4. Bring to a slight boil, then lower heat and let simmer until vegetables are tender (about 15 to 20 minutes).
  5. Stir occasionally while cooking.
  6. Serve over cooked rice and add soy sauce to taste.
  7. Makes about 4 generous servings.
