Sausage Cake

  1. Bring to a boil 1 cup raisins and 1 cup water for 1 minute. Cream sugar and sausage, add spices, cherries, nuts and pineapple. Stir.
  2. Strain raisins and add to mixture.
  3. Add soda to raisin and cherry liquid and then to the mixture of sugar, sausage, etc. Sift flour and baking powder and add to mixture. Put mixture in a tubular pan (angel food cake pan), ungreased and drop a couple of times to make sure the batter has gone to the bottom of the pan. Bake at 325u0b0 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  4. Place pan upside-down on neck of pop bottle to cool.
