Marinated Flank Steak
- 4 large shallots, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons dry red wine
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 1 1/2-pound flank steak, trimmed
- Whisk first 5 ingredients to blend in 13x9x2-inch glass dish, season with pepper.
- Add steak and turn to coat.
- Marinate steak up to 2 hours at room temperature or cover and refrigerate up to 1 day, turning steak occasionally.
- Preheat broiler.
- Remove steak from marinade.
- Broil steak to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Transfer steak to platter.
- Thinly slice steak across grain on diagonal and serve.
