Pumpkin And Chocolate Squares
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 2/3 c. pumpkin pie filling mix
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- Cream oleo, sugar and eggs in a large bowl.
- Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
- Divide the batter in half.
- Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cocoa; add to about 1 cup mixture.
- Blend in vanilla.
- Spoon into greased 9-inch square pan.
- Spread evenly and add the pumpkin pie filling and spice to remaining batter.
- Spread on top of the chocolate mixture.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from edges of pan.
- Cool in pan. Frost with Chocolate Glaze.
- Makes 16 brownies.
- I double recipe.
