Maryland Steamed Shrimp
- 1 can (12 Oz. Can) Your Favorite Beer. I Use The Non Alcohol Brand At The Grocery Store.
- 1 pound Shrimp
- 13 cups Onion, Sliced
- 13 cups Old Bay Seasoning. Add To Each Batch That You Steam
- Directions for the rice cooker:
- In the pan, pour the beer.
- Put the steam basket over the top and place shrimp in the basket.
- Place shrimp in a single layer (you may have to do this in batches).
- Add onion.
- Add Old Bay Seasoning and gently stir to coat shrimp.
- Cover and steam till shrimp are pink.
- Add the remaining shrimp and repeat.
- Directions for the stove top:
- Add beer to a sauce pan.
- Put a steamer in the pan.
- Add shrimp in a single layer (you may have to do this in batches).
- Add onion and Old Bay Seasoning.
- Gently stir to coat shrimp.
- Cover and steam till shrimp are pink.
- Add the remaining shrimp and repeat.
- You can use different seasonings if you do not have Old Bay Seasoning.
