Sopa De Fideo
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco oil
- 1/2 lb. vermicelli, broken
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 c. onion, thinly sliced
- 2 c. celery, thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. green pepper, finely chopped
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 c. water
- 8 oz. American cheese, grated
- Preheat electric skillet.
- Melt Crisco and saute vermicelli until lightly brown, stirring occasionally.
- Add beef and cook, stirring, until meat loses red color.
- Stir in all but cheese. Stir together gently.
- Set skillet temperature to 200u0b0 and cover and simmer mixture for 25 minutes.
- Remove cover and place cheese on top.
- Cover and cook another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
