Vanilla Flan Chocolate Cake
- 150 grams softened butter
- 110 grams light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 140 grams plain flour
- 40 grams chocolate powder
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 100 ml whole fat milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 tin of condensed milk
- 2 equal amounts of full fat milk. (use the condensed milk can to measure).
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 180c.
- To make the cake, stir together well the butter, sugar and eggs.
- Next add in the flour (shifted) and baking powder.
- Continuously stirring.
- Add the chocolate and stir well, then add in the milk and again stir the mixture.
- I suggest using a deep round spring form baking tin, grease with liquid Caramel, then pour in the mixture.
- Set aside.
- To make the pudding, beat the eggs, condensed milk, full fat milk and vanilla together.
- Very carefully and slowly pour the pudding mixture on top of the cake mixture.
- Fill a deep tray with 1/3 of water and carefully place the tin on top.
- (Bain Marie method).
- Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove tin from the oven and let it cool.
- Only remove the chocolate pudding cake from tin when it is luke warm or completely cold.
- Transfer to a round tray.
