Banana Nut Bread
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter (room temperature)
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. sour milk
- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 very ripe large bananas, mashed
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. walnuts or pecans
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease and flour one 9 x 5-inch loaf pan or 2 smaller pans.
- Cream butter, sugar and eggs in large bowl using electric mixer.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix on low until blended.
- Turn into pan(s) and bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
- Cool 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
- Makes 1 (9 x 5-inch) loaf or 2 (5 5/8 x 3 1/8-inch) loaves.
