Homemade Sloppy Joes
- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 c. celery chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can sliced stewed tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (8 oz.) can water
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 Tbsp. dry parsley
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. Tabasco
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- Brown ground beef in skillet with onion and celery.
- Combine all other ingredients in large pan.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer 15 minutes.
- Add water if needed.
- Add meat mixture.
- Simmer 1 hour.
- Serve on buns.
- Garnish with dill pickles.
