Simply Simmered Spinach & Fried Tofu

  1. Thoroughly rinse the spinach and cut into 3-cm long pieces.
  2. Pour boiling water over the aburaage, squeeze out the excess moisture, then cut into about 2-cm wide strips.
  3. Boil water in a small pot and boil the aburaage.
  4. Add the dashi granules, soy sauce, and mirin.
  5. Stir and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the spinach, cover with a lid, and after it has boiled for 2-3 mintues, it's done.
