Beer Battered Fish

  1. Heat oil in a pot on medium-high heat until it registers 350 degrees F.
  2. Add dry ingredients to a mixing bowl and stir to combine everything.
  3. Once everything is combined, mix in cold beer, and lightly whisk until you have a smooth batter.
  4. Let batter rest for about 5 minutes.
  5. Once oil is heated, dip fish fillet into batter to lightly coat,.
  6. Let any excess batter drip back into the bowl.
  7. Carefully place fish fillet into oil and cook until nice golden brown, roughly 4-6 minutes.
  8. Remove with your kitchen spider, or large slotted spoon, and place on a paper-lined plate to remove any excess oil.
  9. Season with a pinch of salt, and repeat.
  10. The end result is a crisp batter that is just a perfect pairing with your fish.
  11. Feel free to use on cod or halibut as well.
