Grilled Sausage and Cheese Plate
- 2 Tablespoons Ground Cumin
- 3 Tablespoons Celery Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Ground Black Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
- 32 ounces, weight Polska Kielbasa (feel Free To Substitute The Beef Or Turkey Variety - This Is My Favorite Though)
- 12 ounces, weight Cheddar Cheese, Cut Into Cubes
- 12 ounces, weight Pepper Cheese, Cubed
- 1 bunch Green Grapes
- Turn on your grill and let it reach medium heat.
- In a small bowl, add spices and stir well to combine.
- Open packages of kielbasa (I use Hillshire Farms Polska, but the turkey kielbasa is good as well) and drain excess liquid.
- Place kielbasa on a cookie sheet and cut the links in half.
- Then cut those in half.
- You should have 8 hot-dog sized pieces of kielbasa now.
- Take each piece and cut about 3/4 of the way through, every quarter of an inch or so.
- Get a spoon and sprinkle the rub between each slice and the exposed ends.
- You will most likely have some rub leftover.
- Place spice-rubbed kielbasa links on the grill and cover the grill.
- Cook for about 8 minutes and flip, cooking another 5-7 until hot and skin is darkened.
- While the kielbasa is cooking, get out a large platter and begin cubing the cheese.
- Pick grapes off and add them to the platter.
- When the sausage is done, cut into pieces and add it to the platter.
- Add some toothpicks to each group.
- This sausage has a good spice level to it, so if people arent keen on spice, tell them to get sausage, cheese and a grape on a toothpick and take it as one bitethe creaminess of the cheese and the coolness of the grape balance the heat perfectly!
- (I do this anyway just because its delicious.)
- Serve with a cold beer and enjoy your game, tailgate, cookout, etc.
