Mommom Sarah'S Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Butter and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the butter and chocolate until well blended.
  5. Beat in the sugar, then beat in the eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.
  6. Blend in vanilla extract.
  7. Add the dry ingredients; stir to form a batter.
  8. Stir in the walnuts.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan; spread the batter out evenly.
  10. Bake brownies for 25 minutes, or until just set.
  11. Cool brownies completely in pan on rack.
  12. Cut into 1 3/4 x 2 1/4-inch rectangles. Remove from pan with a metal spatula to avoid sticking and breaking.
  13. Store in an airtight tin.
