Berry Almond Crumble Oatmeal Recipe

  1. Before you start: Wash your hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water.
  2. To make topping: Combine oatmeal and almonds in medium skillet.
  3. Cook over medium-low heat 4 to 6 min, stirring occasionally, till both are lightly browned.
  4. Cold completely.
  5. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Add in oatmeal mix; mix well.
  7. To make oatmeal: Bring lowfat milk, cinnamon and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan; stir in 2 c. oatmeal.
  8. Return to a boil; reduce heat to medium.
  9. Cook 5 min for old-fashioned oatmeal, 1 minute for quick-cooking oatmeal, stirring occasionally.
  10. Gently stir in blueberries.
  11. Continue cooking till blueberries are heated through and most of liquid is absorbed, about 1 minute.
  12. Spoon oatmeal into 5 cereal bowls.
  13. Sprinkle topping over oatmeal.
