Hot Chili
- 3 pounds ground beef
- 2 quarts tomato juice
- 2 green pepper, chopped and diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 - 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper spices
- 1 - 12 ounce jar picante sauce - hot
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce - tabasco
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans - 16 ounce, whole tomatoes, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cans of kidney beans
- Brown ground beef in a skillet.
- Drain.
- Combine all ingredients except kidney beans in a Dutch oven or stock pot.
- Cook on low for 2 to 3 hours until ingredients are tender and well blended.
- Add kidney beans to mixture.
- Cook until thoroughly heated.
- Can be made in slow cooker or crock pot before adding beans.
