Caramel Pecan Chocolate Chip Pie

  1. Heat oven to 325*.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine margarine, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  4. Stir in flour just until moistened.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour into crust-lined pie plate.
  7. Bake at 325* for 40 to 50 minutes or until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth, adding remaining whipping cream if necessary for desired spreading consistency.
  8. Stir in pecans.
  9. Immediately spoon and spread over warm pie.
  10. Cool completely.
