Aunt Bert's Meat Loaf Recipe
- 1 1/2 lb grnd chuck
- 1/2 lb grnd pork
- 1 med onion, minced
- 2 x Large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 c. finely minced celery
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/4 tsp dry oregano
- 4 x strips bacon
- 8 ounce seafood cocktail sauce
- Mix well first 9 ingredients.
- Shape into a loaf and place in a shallow baking dish.
- Arrange the bacon strips on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour.
- Top with seafood cocktail sauce and bake an additional 10 min.
- Allow to cold slightly before slicing.
- Serves 6.I vary my meatloaf each time.
- But here is a basic recipe which I use.
- 2 pound grnd beef2 eggstomatoe sauce to tasteBread Crumbs or possibly crackers
- Mix this all together and add in sufficient bread crumbs for the meatloaf to hold its shape.
- Cook at 350 f. for one hour til done through.
- I add in onions, celery and mushrooms and top with cream of mushroom soup.
- I use lipton beef and onion soup mix and top with brown gravy.
- You can add in and top with whatever you think is good.
- I season with salt pepper and garlic.
- Sometimes I add in soy sauce, A1 sauce or possibly worcheshire sauce.
- It really is a wide variety.
- Just whatever kinds of flavors you like.
