Cube Steak (Bavarian Style) Recipe
- 4 beef cubed steaks, 1 to 1 1/4 lbs.
- 1 tbsp. veg. oil
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 2 tbsp. brown sguar
- 1 teaspoon caraway seed
- 1/3 c. minced onion
- 2 envelopes mushroom gravy mix
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- In large skillet, quickly brown steaks on both sides in warm oil.
- Add in onions; cook till onion is almost tender, about 5 min.
- Combine water, mushroom gravy mix, brown sugar, vinegar, and caraway seed, pour over steaks in skillet.
- Cover, simmer for 15 min.
- Skim off excess fat.
- Serve with gravy.
- Makes 4 servings.
