Fabulous Cheese Casserole
- 9 slices bread, cut in 3 strips each
- salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. green onion, minced
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. dried onion, minced
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- Prepare the day before needed.
- Fit the bread strips in the bottom of a lightly greased casserole.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper and 1/3 of green and white onions.
- Grate 1/3 of the cheese over the onions, even out and press down.
- Repeat this with 2 more layers.
- Beat the eggs and add the milk, Worcestershire sauce and dry mustard.
- Pour this mixture over the cheese layers and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove the casserole 2 hours before baking.
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Bake uncovered for 50 minutes. (If recipe is doubled, use only 5 cups milk.)
- Serves 4 to 6.
