California Sushi

  1. Bring to a boil and cool the vinegar, sugar, salt and ajinomoto.
  2. Mix into rice.
  3. Cut 20 sheets of yaki (roasted) nori in half.
  4. Cut vegetables into 1/4 x 2-inch strips.
  5. Arrange vegetables on a platter with a small dish of prepared horseradish to sparingly spread over rice as people roll their own sushi.
  6. To make a sushi, a person would take a nori sheet, place a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori; place some horseradish over rice and place any combination of vegetables in the center.
  7. Roll nori into a cone shape or into a jellyroll shape before eating.
