Beef Or Chicken Stew
- 2 lb. beef cubes or 2 large round chicken breasts, cut up
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 can golden mushroom soup
- 1 large can mushrooms
- 3 large potatoes, chopped
- 3 large carrots, sliced
- 1 stick celery, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 box frozen peas
- salt and pepper (optional)
- 1 c. red or white cooking wine
- Put all ingredients, except wine and frozen peas, together (season with salt and pepper) and stir well.
- Put in oven at 250u0b0. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water after the first hour.
- After the third hour, add either white or red cooking wine.
- Continue baking at 250u0b0 for 5 hours.
- Stir every hour.
- The last hour, put the box of frozen peas on top.
- Cook covered.
