Sauerkraut Dish(Kolosvary Kapusta)
- 1 lb. beef stew meat
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 large onions
- 1 diced medium onion
- 2 cans sauerkraut
- 1 pt. sour cream
- 1 lb. pork stew meat
- paprika
- 1/4 c. rice
- water
- flour
- Stew pork and beef in 1 tablespoon butter and some paprika and 1 large onion, diced.
- Stew 1/4 cup rice in 1 tablespoon butter, diced medium sized onion and enough water to cook rice.
- Cook 2 cans sauerkraut in 1 tablespoon butter, 1 large sliced onion and enough water to keep kraut thick.
- After kraut is cooked, sprinkle with a little flour and mix.
- Into deep casserole, beginning with kraut mixture, put a layer of each of the three mixtures:
- one layer of kraut, then layer of meat and layer of rice.
- Do this until casserole is filled.
- Pour one pint of sour cream on top and spread.
- Bake in moderate 350u0b0 oven for 40 minutes.
- Serve hot.
