Hilda'S Special Barbecue(My Barbecue Always Sold Out In My Cafeteria.)
- 3 lb. pork steak
- 3/4 c. vinegar
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 c. ketchup
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp. hot sauce
- 2 qt. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 stick oleo
- 2 level Tbsp. cornstarch
- hamburger, sliced ham or turkey, etc.
- 1 lb. American or Cheddar cheese
- 2 slices bread, toasted (for each shoe)
- French fried potatoes
- 2 c. flour
- Pour the milk into a double boiler.
- In a separate dish, melt oleo (this can be done in a microwave), then add cornstarch and flour, and mix well.
- Stir this mixture into hot milk and add cheese.
- Stir often, and cook until sauce is thickened.
- (More or less cheese may be added, depending on desired thickness.)
