Chocolate Nut Cake
- 1/2 c. butter
- 5 eggs, separated
- 3 c. White Lily flour
- dash of salt
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- Cream butter,
- Crisco and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat egg yolks, and
- add
- to
- creamed
- mixture.
- Sift
- drytngredients together. Add
- to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Mix in vanilla and
- nuts.teat egg whites until stiff; fold into cake batter. Pour
- into a greased and floured tube pan.take at 300u0b0 for
- 30 minutes, then turn up oven to 325u0b0 and bake 1 hour or until cake tests done.
