Black Walnut Apple Bread

  1. Sift flour with baking powder, soda, salt and spices.
  2. Stir in cereal flakes, walnuts and apple.
  3. Combine egg, brown sugar, buttermilk and oil.
  4. Add flour mixture.
  5. Mix just enough to moisten dry ingredients.
  6. Do not beat.
  7. Turn into well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour, or until tester inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Let stand in pan 10 minutes. Remove to rack to cool completely.
  10. Yields 1 loaf.
