Star-Shaped Jam Cookies

  1. Beat cream cheese, butter, granulated sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended.
  2. Gradually add flour, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Refrigerate 30 min.
  4. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Place dough on floured surface; roll out to 1/8-inch thickness.
  5. Cut into 72 shapes, using 2-inch star-shaped cookie cutter, rerolling scraps as necessary.
  6. Use small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut small star-shaped piece out of center of each of 36 cutouts.
  7. Discard removed centers.
  8. Place cutouts, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets.
  9. Bake 10 to 12 min.
  10. or until edges are lightly browned.
  11. Cool 3 min.

  13. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  14. Spoon 1/2 tsp.
  15. jam onto center of each whole cookie; cover with cut-out cookie.
  16. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
