Nadine'S Chocolate Chiffon Pie
- 1 1/2 c. vanilla wafer crumbs
- 1/2 stick melted margarine
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- peanut brittle
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 stick margarine
- 1 pkg. plain gelatin, dissolved in 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 c. hot milk
- 1 carton whipping cream or Cool Whip
- Mix 1/2 cup sugar, flour, salt and cocoa; beat in egg yolks. Gradually stir in hot milk.
- Cook in double boiler until slightly thickened.
- Add the dissolved gelatin to hot custard.
- Add vanilla and margarine.
- Cool.
- Beat the egg whites until in peaks, adding the remaining sugar.
- Fold into the cooled custard.
- Pour into pie crust and chill several hours.
